Alpha Delta Pi
In the month of October, our sisters had a great time attending all sorts of activities together. We had a team participate in Lip Sync. We also had a large group of sisters attend the Out of the Darkness Walk, which raised funds and awareness for suicide prevention. Six sisters also had the honor of being inducted into Alpha Chi. On October 1st, we also had our annual Mallard Ball and our sisters and their dates had an amazing time. To finish out the month, we celebrated homecoming and had an alumni tailgate and met up with tons of sisters! On top of this, our sister Holly Mode represented ADPi on Homecoming Court and our sister Maggie Hirst was also on the court representing The Improvacateurs! They both made us extremely proud. Overall, it was a super exciting October for us.
Alpha Phi really got into the spirit of Fall this October! In the beginning of the month, we had our annual weekend-long Sisterhood Retreat in Virginia Beach. We spent the weekend bonding over the incredible sisterhood that we share, and it reminded us just how lucky we are to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. A few weeks later, we had our Fall Date Function at Hunt Club Farm. Our sisters and dates had a blast on the Haunted Hay Ride, Field of Screams, and Haunted Corn Maze! A few days later, we were notified that one of our very own, sister Erin Callahan, was one of the few chosen to be on this year's Homecoming Court. We are so proud of Erin for how well she represents Alpha Phi and CNU in everything that she does. We are so grateful that we got to see so many of our Alumnae sisters on Homecoming Weekend and show them our new chapter home. Additionally, we had a housewarming brunch and a ceremony dedicated to our new home, as we know that the honor of receiving it was due to not only our active sisters, but all the hard work done throughout the generations before ours. Finally, our sisters had a blast dressing up for Halloween and got really creative with their costumes-- you can never be to old to get in the Halloween Spirit!
Alpha Sigma Alpha
We held our first annual Anchor Slam and raised over 5,000 dollars for Service for Sight! We also had our Fall retreat at a camp in Williamsburg that included fun games, yummy snacks, smores, and bonding in sisterhood by the fireside.
Gamma Phi Beta
Gamma Phi Beta has been up to so much this past month. We have had two events on campus to raise money for our philanthropy, Cider for a Cause where we sold yummy apple cider and pastries, and a Root Beer Float stand! We also received first place in Alpha Phi Alpha's annual Stroll to The Polls which meant a lot to us as we had so many sisters and especially seniors work extremely hard on our routine. We also had a ball at our semi-formal this month and are gearing up for our huge philanthropy event next month, Moonball, as well as our elections!
October has been a fun-filled and happy month for Phi Mu!! We had an amazing Kendra Scott Gives Back party in our home where 20% of the proceeds went to our local philanthropy, Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughter. We raised over $700! Our sisters placed 3rd in IFC’s LipSync competition, and a few of our sisters were inducted into Alpha Chi National College Honor Society for being in the top 10% of juniors and seniors academically at CNU. We also had a sisterhood event at the Peninsula Family Skating Center where our sisters roller-skated the night away! We had a great week celebrating our home sweet home, CNU, for Homecoming Week while participating in the Captain’s Cup and placing in many of those events. It was so fun to have many of our alumni back in town to celebrate! To wrap up the month, we had a successful and yummy fundraiser at Yogurtini. October was an exciting and cheerful month for our sisters!
Zeta Tau Alpha
October proved a busy month for the sisters of Zeta Tau Alpha. Along with our biggest month of philanthropy, sisters were busy with Fall Break and Homecoming. Over break, two of our sister spent their time away from school here in the Newport News and surrounding area giving back by volunteering with REACH, an on-campus service organization. We had both our Stick it to Cancer Hockey Game and Pink Out Football game, where sisters had the opportunity to team up with CNU athletics and raise money for Breast Cancer Education and Awareness. Finally, we loved getting to see many older sisters and alumni come home, and see Zeta Tau Alpha win this year's Captain's Cup at Homecoming!
What is this?
The Panhellenic Blog is a way for CNU sororities to share with the community what events and activities they have been doing over the course of the semester. This blog is updated every month from women within each chapter.
