Alpha Delta Pi
This past month, we had a sisterhood retreat at Newport News Park and spent the day bonding as sisters! We also held a philanthropy event, LemonADPi, and raised money for Ronald McDonald House Charities by selling lemonade! We also had a visit from Grand Council member and International VP of Finance Emily Erkel.
This past month, Alpha Phi hosted our largest philanthropy event of the year, Red Dress Gala. Recently, we were notified that we raised a total of $22,920 for the Alpha Phi Foundation- surpassing last years' amount by over $1000. We are so grateful for the amount of support we received from our family, friends, professors, and classmates; it would not have been possible without them!
Alpha Sigma Alpha
Our sisters had such an exciting month together! Our fundraiser with Kappa Delta Rho, Prove It!, was so much fun! We loved seeing how well everyone knew each other! We also had our sisterhood retreat at the Eastover Retreat Center. After a summer apart, it was so nice to sit down and really connect with each other again! Our sisters has such a great month and we are looking forward to see what October holds!
Gamma Phi Beta
This month has been a big one for Phi Mu! At the very beginning of the month, it was the official opening of Greek Village! We had fun christening our new home, and a few weeks later we celebrated our chapter's, Lambda Epsilon’s, 25th anniversary. We had hundreds of people including faculty, alumni, and friends from the community come celebrate with us all weekend long. We also had a relaxing and fun sisterhood event -- movie night on the Greek Lawn! We also welcomed a new fall class to Phi Mu with a holiday theme, “We just couldn’t wait for the most wonderful time of the year….BID DAY!! #HΦΜefortheHolidays”. Our sisters tied for 1st place in ASA’s Prove It Fundraiser! Shortly after, our sisters had an incredible time at a corn maze & pumpkin patch for our sisterhood retreat. Our annual fundraiser, Swing-a-thon, was a hit like always, as all of our donations benefited one of our philanthropies, the Phi Mu Foundation. September was joyful, busy, and exciting month for us!
Zeta Tau Alpha
September saw the beginning of Zeta Tau Alpha's biggest month of philanthropy, Pinktober, educating and creating awareness of Breast Cancer to CNU and the surrounding Newport News community. We started with our inaugural event, Fight Like a Girl, an inflatable jousting tournament. Congratulations to the brothers of PIKE for winning, and the sisters of ADPI for being our Calorie Crunchers! Our second event was Bright Pink: Brighten Up Educational Workshop where all students were invited to learn the signs of Breast and Ovarian Cancer as well as to assess their risk. At the beginning of the month, we had our American-themed Sisterhood Retreat at Newport News Park and bonded with our sisters over field games and competition.
What is this?
The Panhellenic Blog is a way for CNU sororities to share with the community what events and activities they have been doing over the course of the semester. This blog is updated every month from women within each chapter.
