...and thinking about becoming a Recruitment Counselor?
Wait, what is a recruitment counselor?
Recruitment counselors are an integral part of the recruitment process. After applying, RCs are chosen based on their positive attitude, their ability to work well with others, and their knowledge of the Greek Community. If selected, RCs are trained to answer questions about recruitment, Greek Life, academics, and college life in general. As representatives of the Panhellenic Association, these women are completely disaffiliated from their chapter, meaning that they do not attend any recruitment functions and are completely unaware of the women that their own chapter is recruiting. This allows RCs to dedicate their time and abilities to counseling potential members as an unbiased Greek woman.
But, I would have to disaffiliate? ...sounds scary
Although disaffiliation sounds scary, it is often described as one of the most beneficial experiences sorority sisters can have. It allows them to see recruitment from both sides, as well as help potenital members find their home in the Greek system.
