Dear Potential New Members,
On behalf of the Panhellenic Community at Christopher Newport University, I would like to extend a warm welcome to Sorority Formal Recruitment 2016! Our Panhellenic Community prides itself on upholding and maintaining the values that each of our individual chapters were founded on, as well as the four pillars of Greek Life: scholarship, leadership, sisterhood, and philanthropy. It is my hope that as you begin this journey to find your place in one of our seven amazing chapters that you find a home away from home- a chapter that reflects the values that you hold dear, and brings out the best version of who you are.
Recruitment is a unique process that will bring women of all different backgrounds together, with the goal of finding common ground in our Panhellenic Community. You will learn a tremendous amount about yourself through the recruitment process. I encourage you to take time to reflect on what you hope to find at the end of this process… A support system? A network? A place to grow as a leader? An opportunity to give back?
For me, Sorority Life has been my home away from home. As a member, I have had the incredible opportunity to grow as a leader, a scholar, and a sister. I would not be the same person I am today if it were not for the women I have met inside my own chapter, but also within our Pnahellenic community. I find comfort knowing that I will carry these relationships with me long after I graduate, as the truthful but cheesy saying goes: “joinging a sorority is not just four years; it is for life.”
Enjoy the Recruitment process and don’t forget to have fun! The Panhellenic Community is so thrilled that you have chosen to join us and we hope that you find your place in one of our seven amazing chapters but also in our Panhellenic community!

Running home to my sisters after having just received my official bid will definitely be one of those moments that I will remember forever. The love from my sisters was clearly overwhelming from the very beginning, as they welcomed each and every one of us with open arms. I knew I had found new friends, future sisters, and my home.
